According to a recent study of more than 1,000 British living abroad, Canada is considered to be the best place to live and offers the best quality of life for British citizens living abroad.

Rather than inheriting money, many wealthy Canadians are now earning their fortunes on their own.

A report released by the Organization for Economic Co-operation and Development concluded that Canada is the most tolerant country of the 140 countries polled.

A recent study conducted by Tony Fang, a Canadian professor at the University of York in Vancouver, found that Canada needs to increase the number of immigrants coming to Canada in order to encourage investment in housing and to help boost the nation’s economy.

Statistics Canada has indicated that there are over 826,000 women who are entrepreneurs in Canada. The number of self-employed women in Canada has increased by 50%.

A recent report, entitled Outlook for Human Resources in the ICT Labour Market, 2011-2016, states that there will be a labour shortage of qualified applicants for IT related jobs in Canada within the next few years. The report was released by the Information and Communications Technology Council (ICTC).

Saskatchewan currently has 11 settlement agencies in the province. One of those agencies is Estevan Comprehensive School. Estevan is located in southeast Saskatchewan and is currently serving over 55 different communities.

As Citizenship and Immigration Canada (CIC) and the Government of Canada have noticed an increase in the number of fraudulent marriages, they are proposing changes for the Family Class immigration category, specifically for spousal sponsorships.

Jason Kenney, Immigration and Multiculturalism Minister, recently announced that the Government of Canada will provide $22 million to fund the Bridge Training Program. The training program is aimed at helping skilled immigrants better integrate into the Canadian labour market.

Citizenship and Immigration Canada (CIC) has been consulting with relevant stakeholders on the proposed changes to the Federal Skilled Worker Program. Due to the high volume of responses, CIC has decided to extend the consultation period until March 31.
